About Us

Three Galleys is an independent recording studio and record label based in Sheffield, UK.

The studio is run by members of avant-rock tunesmiths Slow Galley’s Drift and associated residents.

Recent recording credits include engineering on Sharron Kraus’s Joy’s Reflection is Sorrow and Oh! by Big Eyes Family Players, and recording of Jim Ghedi’s contribution to Help the Witch from From Here Records.

As well as music recording and production, we also offer vocal capture / voiceover recording, remote mixing, audio mastering and audio restoration - please contact us for details.

Ric Booth, co-director and one of our engineers, also works as an independent composer for visual media.

Three Galleys Records is a micro label specialising in folk, alternative, and art house releases. All release are available here and also on all major streaming and download platforms. A range of promotional tracks and videos are available across this site for streaming or free download.

The studio takes it’s name from Three Danish Galleys as recorded in Ruth Tongue’s The Chime Child or Somerset Singers - the song is discussed here on the Mainly Norfolk folk archive.
